Record Player Update

Last week I turned on my record player, phono pre-amp, and speaker amp when I ran into problems. The speaker amp turned on, made a popping noise, and then stopped working. I did a quick look online and found that though not common, this was a death sentence for my particular model.

I started some research on replacement amps. I’m not opposed to spending a little bit more to get a good quality amp. I had considered the Emotiva A2 Mini and even looked at some Schiit options. I had also briefly considered integrating a DAC into my setup to pull in the signal from the television to the record player speaker setup.

After watching several reviews and considering my space limitations, I decided on the Fosi Audio v3 amplifier. It is cheap, arrived swiftly, and sounds great. I do not have an audiophile setup or listening room, but it does exactly what I want and nothing more. Analog at its best.
